The troubled chairman of the Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Dino Melaye (APC, Kogi), yesterday, clarified why he won't continue at the Senate today.
The Kogi lawmaker said he was not sufficiently solid to continue work at the senate. He, in any case, said he had skiped back to the vexation of the individuals who looked to seal his lips from taking a stand in opposition to oppression, legislative issues of abuse and shakedown.
Melaye's running fight with the police over charge of firearm running landed him in doctor's facility from where he showed up in the courts on a stretcher.
In a message labeled 'Thank you Nigerians' he by and by presented on our reporter by means of WhatsApp, he said he would keep on speaking the truth. It understands: "Somebody once said that absolute bottom is great strong ground and a deadlock road is only a place to pivot. Over the most recent couple of weeks, I have been taken to the great strong ground at the absolute bottom and they couldn't go further.
I have been conveyed to the deadlock road yet with you remaining close by, I have pivoted and ricocheted back to the dismay of the individuals who looked to seal my lips from taking a stand in opposition to oppression, legislative issues of mistreatment and shakedown.
"They released a perpetual torrent of physical, psychological, metaphysical and emotional torment and attack on me, at the same time, through the energy of the Most High, and you the great individuals of Nigeria, we have by and by observed the triumph of truth over untruths and great over abhorrence.
"The state released its crude power on me and discharged 200 man-solid completely outfitted policemen - on a man without a blade or a projectile. It did this since I called treachery by its name and called for responsibility.
For this they tried to break my soul and decimate me for all time," he said.
On the fizzled move to review him, Melaye stated, "While oblivious and unfit to battle for myself, they tried to take my order, which you had openly given to me.
In any case, you replied back and extinguished duplicity afterward. You stood fearless and determined and safeguarded your order to me. In all seriousness. In their endeavor to break me, they have made me more grounded," he said.
